CAS 540-92-1
:Acetone sodium bisulfite
Description:
Acetone sodium bisulfite, with the CAS number 540-92-1, is a chemical compound formed from the reaction of acetone and sodium bisulfite. It typically appears as a white to off-white crystalline solid and is known for its solubility in water, which makes it useful in various applications. This compound is primarily utilized in organic synthesis and as a reagent in analytical chemistry, particularly in the identification and quantification of carbonyl compounds. Acetone sodium bisulfite can act as a reducing agent and is often involved in the formation of bisulfite adducts, which are important in the stabilization of aldehydes and ketones. Additionally, it is recognized for its mild acidity due to the presence of the bisulfite ion. Safety considerations include handling it with care, as it can cause irritation to the skin and eyes. Overall, acetone sodium bisulfite serves as a valuable tool in both laboratory and industrial settings, particularly in organic chemistry and related fields.

CAS:
2-Hydroxy-2-propanesulfonic acid monosodium salt (HPS) is a water soluble polymer. It is used as a coating or additive to improve the properties of polymers and textile fibers, such as strength and durability. HPS can be activated by persulfate ions to form a crosslinked polymer network that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro. This polymer also inhibits thrombin, an enzyme involved in blood clotting, which may lead to improved hemostasis. HPS has antimicrobial activity against gram-positive bacteria and fungi when combined with a surfactant and an oxidizing agent.
Purity:Min. 95%
