    <p>3-Isoniazid is a drug used to treat bowel disease. It inhibits the synthesis of purines and pyrimidines in bacteria and has been shown to be effective against some forms of tuberculosis. 3-Isoniazid binds to inhibitor molecules, which are enzymes that are required for the synthesis of nucleic acids in bacteria, leading to their inhibition. 3-Isoniazid also blocks receptor activity in bacteria, inhibiting their ability to bind to host cells and invade tissues.
