The chemical reactions that occur when 3-aminoisonicotinic acid is mixed with hydrogen peroxide and nitric oxide have also been studied. 3-Aminoisonicotinic acid has also been shown to inhibit histone methylation as well as glutamate uptake in cells, suggesting possible therapeutic applications for neurology.
