4-Hydroxypyrrolidine-2-carboxamide is a catalytic, organic compound that belongs to the class of sulfones and iodides. It is used in organic chemistry as a coupling agent for the synthesis of sulfones and aryl iodides. 4-Hydroxypyrrolidine-2-carboxamide has been shown to be an effective ligand for metal ions such as copper, zinc, nickel and cadmium. The amide group can also be used as a ligand in coordination chemistry. The acid salts of 4-hydroxypyrrolidine-2-carboxamide have been shown to have antiinflammatory properties.
