CAS:Daclatasvir is a direct-acting antiviral agent that inhibits the activity of the NS5A protein, which is a nonstructural protein required for viral replication. It has been shown to be active against hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype 1b and genotype 2a and also has synergistic activity with other antiviral agents. Daclatasvir has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against cells in culture. The drug may interact with some drugs and can affect the pharmacokinetics of other drugs. Daclatasvir is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes, which could lead to drug-drug interactions. Daclatasvir is a substrate for polymerase chain reaction amplification methods, such as real-time PCR, limiting its use as a diagnostic tool.
