Applications 1,1,1-Tris(hydroxymethyl)propane-d5 is the labeled analogue of 1,1,1-Tris(hydroxymethyl)propane, a building block often used to make polymers. 1,1,1-Tris(hydroxymethyl)propane has been used as a precursor to prepatre alkyd resins for linseed oil based paint. 1,1,1-Tris(hydroxymethyl)propane-d4 has been used as a reactant for the preparation of ethyltrioxaphosphabicyclooctane oxide isotopomer.
