15β-OH gibberellin A3 is a potent and selective inhibitor of the potassium channel Kv1.2. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of other potassium channels, including Kv1.1, Kv1.3, and Kv4.3, at concentrations that are 100-fold lower than those required for inhibition of Kv1.2 channels. 15β-OH gibberellin A3 binds to the extracellular domain of these channels and blocks ion flow through their central pore region by binding to both voltage sensor domains 1 and 2 in a noncompetitive manner. This ligand also has high affinity for G protein-coupled receptors and can activate them as well as inhibit them in a dose-dependent manner.END>
