Granisetronhydrochlorid ist ein selektiver Serotonin-5-HT3-Rezeptorantagonist, der hauptsächlich als Antiemetikum eingesetzt wird, um Übelkeit und Erbrechen im Zusammenhang mit Chemotherapie, Strahlentherapie und Chirurgie zu verhindern. Es handelt sich um ein weißes bis schwach weißes kristallines Pulver, das in Wasser löslich ist und einen pH-Bereich von typischerweise zwischen 4 und 6 aufweist, wenn es gelöst ist. Die chemische Formel von Granisetronhydrochlorid spiegelt seine Struktur wider, die einen Piperidinring umfasst, der zu seiner pharmakologischen Aktivität beiträgt.
