Das Imipramin-Hydrochlorid ist ein trizyklisches Antidepressivum, das hauptsächlich zur Behandlung der Major Depression und bestimmter Angststörungen eingesetzt wird. Es wirkt, indem es die Wiederaufnahme von Neurotransmittern, insbesondere Noradrenalin und Serotonin, hemmt und somit deren Verfügbarkeit im synaptischen Spalt erhöht.
