Urodilatin ist ein Peptid, das aus dem Prohormon pro-atriales natriuretisches Peptid (pro-ANP) abgeleitet ist und hauptsächlich an der Regulierung der Nierenfunktion und des Flüssigkeitsgleichgewichts beteiligt ist. Es zeichnet sich durch seine Rolle als natriuretisches Mittel aus, das die Ausscheidung von Natrium und Wasser fördert, was hilft, das Blutvolumen zu reduzieren und den Blutdruck zu senken. Urodilatin wird in den Nieren produziert und wirkt auf die Nierentubuli, wodurch die Diurese und Natriurese erhöht wird.
