Beschreibung:
Mycophenolatmofetilhydrochlorid ist ein immunsuppressives Mittel, das hauptsächlich bei Organtransplantationen und Autoimmunerkrankungen eingesetzt wird. Es ist ein Prodrug von Mycophenolsäure, das das Enzym Inosinmonophosphat-Dehydrogenase (IMPDH) hemmt, das für den de novo-Syntheseweg von Purinnukleotiden entscheidend ist. Diese Hemmung wirkt selektiv auf Lymphozyten und verringert somit deren Proliferation und Aktivität. Die Substanz erscheint als weißes bis off-white kristallines Pulver und ist in organischen Lösungsmitteln wie Methanol und Ethanol löslich, hat jedoch eine begrenzte Löslichkeit in Wasser. Ihre molekulare Formel spiegelt eine komplexe Struktur wider, die eine Morpholin-Gruppe umfasst, die zu ihren pharmakologischen Eigenschaften beiträgt. Mycophenolat-Mofetil wird typischerweise oral verabreicht und ist bekannt für sein relativ günstiges Nebenwirkungsprofil im Vergleich zu anderen Immunsuppressiva, obwohl es dennoch gastrointestinale Störungen verursachen und das Risiko von Infektionen erhöhen kann.
