Endothelin-3 (ET-3) ist ein potentes vasokonstriktorisches Peptid, das eine bedeutende Rolle in verschiedenen physiologischen Prozessen spielt, einschließlich der vaskulären Homöostase und der Regulierung des Blutdrucks. Es gehört zur Familie der Endothelinen, die aus drei Isoformen besteht: Endothelin-1, Endothelin-2 und Endothelin-3. ET-3 wird hauptsächlich von Endothelzellen produziert und hat eine hohe Affinität zu Endothelinrezeptoren, insbesondere zu den ETA- und ETB-Rezeptoren, die G-Protein-gekoppelte Rezeptoren sind.
