CAS:
Levofloxacin N-oxide is a metabolite of levofloxacin that is formed by the oxidation of levofloxacin. Levofloxacin N-oxide has been shown to have antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and to be effective against some Gram-negative bacteria such as Helicobacter pylori. Levofloxacin N-oxide also inhibits the production of glucose in the liver and leads to weight loss in rats. It binds to DNA and RNA, inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division. The binding of levofloxacin N-oxide to DNA may be due to its ability to form adducts with DNA bases or its ability to bind covalently via reactive metabolites. Levofloxacin N-oxide is metabolized into a glucuronide conjugate that can be assayed
Formel:C18H20FN3O5Reinheit:Min. 98 Area-%Farbe und Form:PowderMolekulargewicht:377.37 g/mol
