Fipronil

Fipronil ist ein Breitbandinsektizid, das zur chemischen Klasse der Phenylpyrazole gehört und hauptsächlich zur Bekämpfung von Schädlingen in der Landwirtschaft und der Tiermedizin eingesetzt wird. Es wirkt als Neurotoxin, das die normale Funktion des Nervensystems von Insekten stört, indem es die GABA-gesteuerten Chloridkanäle hemmt und die glutamatgesteuerten Chloridkanäle beeinflusst, was zu einer Hypererregung und schließlich zum Tod der Zielschädlinge führt. Fipronil ist wirksam gegen eine Vielzahl von Insekten, darunter Ameisen, Kakerlaken, Termiten und Flöhe. Es wird typischerweise als flüssiges Konzentrat, Granulate oder Köder formuliert. 5-Amino-1-[2,6-dichloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-4-[(trifluoromethyl)sulfinyl]-1H-pyrazole-3-carbonitrile (TCFP), also known as CX-546, is a photosynthetic activity enhancer that inhibits oxidative injury to chloroplasts. TCFP is a pyrazole ring with a sulfinyl group and a chlorine atom. TCFP has been shown to have no genotoxic or carcinogenic potential in vitro and in vivo studies. TCFP is not active against infectious diseases. TCFP can be used as an analytical reagent for the detection of cytochrome P450 activities in human serum.
