Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain, swelling, and stiffness caused by various medical conditions. Ibuprofen is a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme cyclooxygenase, which converts arachidonic acid to prostaglandin H2.
