Acetylaceton, auch bekannt als 2,4-Pentanedion, ist eine organische Verbindung mit der chemischen Formel C5H8O2. Es handelt sich um eine farblose bis blassgelbe Flüssigkeit mit einem charakteristischen süßen, fruchtigen Geruch. Acetylaceton ist ein Diketone, das zwei Carbonylgruppen (C=O) an den Positionen 2 und 4 einer fünf Kohlenstoff langen Kette aufweist.
