This novel nucleoside has antiviral activity against hepatitis C virus and cytomegalovirus, as well as anticancer properties. 2'-Deoxy-5'-O-DMT-5-methylzebularine 3'-CE phosphoramidite has shown antitumour activity in animal models of human breast cancer and melanoma.
