Beschreibung:
Kaliumhydroxid (KOH), auch bekannt als Ätzkali, ist eine starke alkalische Verbindung, die durch ihre weiße, feste Form gekennzeichnet ist, die hoch wasserlöslich ist und eine exotherme Reaktion hervorruft. Es ist hygroskopisch, was bedeutet, dass es Feuchtigkeit aus der Luft aufnehmen kann, und es dissoziiert leicht in wässrigen Lösungen, um Kaliumionen (K⁺) und Hydroxidionen (OH⁻) freizusetzen. KOH wird häufig in verschiedenen Anwendungen eingesetzt, unter anderem als starke Base in der chemischen Herstellung, in der Produktion von Biodiesel und als pH-Regulator in verschiedenen industriellen Prozessen. Es wird auch in der Lebensmittelindustrie als Lebensmittelzusatzstoff und in der Herstellung von Seifen und Reinigungsmitteln verwendet.
