CAS:1-(1-Adamantyl)ethylamine is an antipyretic drug that belongs to the class of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It has been shown to inhibit the inflammatory response by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis and reducing leukocyte accumulation in inflamed tissues. 1-(1-Adamantyl)ethylamine has been used as a treatment for infectious diseases and influenza, including pandemic influenza. It is currently being studied as a potential antiviral against HIV, SARS, and influenza A viruses. This drug also inhibits viral replication by blocking the binding of the virus to host cells and interfering with viral protein synthesis. The drug may be active against certain strains of influenza that are resistant to other antivirals such as rimantadine or amantadine.
