Neomycin

Neomycin ist ein Aminoglykosid-Antibiotikum, das hauptsächlich zur Behandlung von bakteriellen Infektionen eingesetzt wird, insbesondere von solchen, die durch gramnegative Bakterien verursacht werden. Es wird aus dem Bakterium Streptomyces fradiae gewonnen und ist bekannt für seine antibakterielle Wirkung mit breitem Spektrum. Neomycin zeichnet sich durch seine Fähigkeit aus, die Proteinsynthese in Bakterien zu hemmen, indem es an die 30S-ribosomale Untereinheit bindet, was den Übersetzungsprozess stört.
