CAS:Acetylenedicarboxylic acid is an antimicrobial agent that belongs to the group of dicarboxylic acids. It has strong inhibitory effects against human pathogens, including HIV. Acetylenedicarboxylic acid is a potent inhibitor of several enzymes, including 2-aminoterephthalic acid and malonic acid hydrolases. Acetylenedicarboxylic acid has been shown to inhibit the growth of human pathogens by blocking hydrogen bonding interactions in the enzyme's active site. The high value for this compound was determined using kinetic data obtained from locomotor activity studies in mice.
