Oleylalkohol, mit der CAS-Nummer 143-28-2, ist ein langkettiger Fetalkohol, der durch seine hydrophobe Natur und eine hydrophile Hydroxylgruppe gekennzeichnet ist. Es handelt sich um einen ungesättigten Alkohol, der aus natürlichen Quellen wie Olivenöl gewonnen wird und aus einer 18-Kohlenstoffkette besteht, die typischerweise zwischen dem 9. und 10. Kohlenstoffatom eine Doppelbindung aufweist.
