Interacts with translation elongation factor eEF1A2, resulting in disruption of nucleolar structure and inhibition of RNA polymerase (Pol) I transcription. Whilst having mild effects on primary tumors, metarrestin suppresses growth and invasion of metastatic tumors in vivo.
