Cromoglicinsäure, auch bekannt als Cromoglicinsäure Natrium, ist ein Medikament, das hauptsächlich als entzündungshemmendes Mittel zur Behandlung von Asthma und allergischen Erkrankungen eingesetzt wird. Es wirkt als Mastzellstabilisator und verhindert die Freisetzung von Histamin und anderen entzündungsfördernden Mediatoren. Cromoglicinsäure wird typischerweise durch Inhalation, Nasenspray oder Augentropfen verabreicht, je nach zu behandelnder Erkrankung. Die Substanz zeichnet sich durch ihre relativ geringe Löslichkeit in Wasser aus, was ihre Formulierung und Verabreichungsmethoden beeinflusst. Cromoglicinsäure hat eine molekulare Formel von C23H14NaO11, und seine Struktur umfasst mehrere aromatische Ringe und eine Natriumsalzkombination.
