Sulfo-SPDB-DM4 is a conjugate of a monoclonal antibody and the active form of eribulin. It is used as an anticancer drug to treat patients with cancer, such as breast cancer and prostate cancer. The pharmacokinetic properties of this drug have been studied in CD-1 mice bearing tumor xenografts. Sulfo-SPDB-DM4 binds to the antigen expressed by the tumor cells, which leads to an increase in the number of receptors on the surface of tumor cells. This leads to increased uptake and accumulation of eribulin in tumor cells, resulting in inhibition of cell proliferation.
