Naltrexon

Naltrexon ist ein Opioid-Antagonist, der hauptsächlich zur Behandlung von Opioidabhängigkeit und Alkoholgebrauchsstörungen eingesetzt wird. Er wirkt, indem er die Wirkungen von Opioiden auf Rezeptorebene blockiert, wodurch das Verlangen und die euphorischen Effekte, die mit dem Opioidgebrauch verbunden sind, verringert werden. Naltrexon ist ein weißes bis off-white kristallines Pulver, das in Wasser löslich ist und eine molekulare Formel von C20H23NO4 hat. Sein Wirkmechanismus umfasst die kompetitive Hemmung der Mu-Opioid-Rezeptoren, was hilft, Rückfälle bei Personen zu verhindern, die sich von einer Opioidabhängigkeit erholen. Die Substanz wird typischerweise oral oder durch intramuskuläre Injektion verabreicht, mit einer langen Halbwertszeit, die eine einmal tägliche Dosierung in oralen Formulierungen oder weniger häufige Dosierungen in injizierbaren Formen ermöglicht. Nebenwirkungen können Übelkeit, Kopfschmerzen, Schwindel und Müdigkeit umfassen, aber sie wird im Allgemeinen gut vertragen. Aufgrund ihrer opioidblockierenden Eigenschaften ist Naltrexon bei Patienten, die derzeit Opioide verwenden, kontraindiziert, da sie Entzugssymptome auslösen kann.
