It is structurally related to the prototypical 5HT2CR agonist, 8-(3-(4-(2,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-1-[1,2,4]triazol--5-- yl)phenoxy)octanoic acid (8OCPA). This drug has been shown to be an effective and selective 5HT2CR antagonist in animal studies. 5HT2CR antagonists have been shown to be effective in treating disorders such as depression and anxiety.
