It is a novel nucleoside analog that has antiviral and anticancer activities. N6BMT3'OMeA inhibits replication of HIV by inhibiting reverse transcriptase and DNA polymerases, which prevents the production of viral DNA. N6BMT3'OMeA also inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells by binding to DNA, preventing the normal synthesis of RNA and protein molecules.
