Micafungin-Natrium ist ein Antimykotikum, das zur Klasse der Echinocandine gehört und hauptsächlich zur Behandlung invasiver Pilzinfektionen eingesetzt wird, insbesondere solcher, die durch Candida- und Aspergillus-Arten verursacht werden. Es wirkt, indem es die Synthese von β-(1,3)-D-Glucan hemmt, einem wesentlichen Bestandteil der Pilzzellwand, wodurch die strukturelle Integrität des Pilzes beeinträchtigt und zur Zelllyse führt.
