This compound has antiviral activity, which may be due to its ability to inhibit viral DNA polymerase and/or viral RNA polymerase. 5’-Azido-5’-deoxy-2’-O,4’-C methyleneuridine also has anticancer properties by inhibiting DNA synthesis and cell division.</p>
