Poly[oxy(methyl-1,2-ethandiyl)], α-hydro-ω-hydroxy-, allgemein bekannt als Polyethylenglykol (PEG), ist ein hydrophiles Polymer, das durch seine sich wiederholenden Einheiten von Ethylenglykol gekennzeichnet ist. Diese Substanz ist typischerweise eine farblose, geruchlose und viskose Flüssigkeit oder ein Feststoff, abhängig von ihrem Molekulargewicht. PEG ist in Wasser und vielen organischen Lösungsmitteln löslich, was es vielseitig für verschiedene Anwendungen macht.
