(Pyridin-2-yl)phosphonic acid
CAS:Pyridin-2-ylphosphonic acid is a reactive, organic compound. It has been used in the study of enzyme catalysis and reaction solutions. This chemical has been shown to be effective in decreasing fertility in Sprague-Dawley rats. It also inhibits radiation-induced damage to DNA by binding to the phosphate groups on the DNA molecule, which prevents their attack by hydroxyl radicals. The compound does not have any significant effect on locomotor activity in mice when given at doses up to 400 mg/kg body weight.
