CAS:3,5,7-Trimethoxyflavone is a natural product that belongs to the group of fatty acids. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects, inhibiting production of tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and other inflammatory cytokines in human macrophages. 3,5,7-Trimethoxyflavone also inhibits the production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes. The root powder has potent inhibitory effects on TNF-α production by lipopolysaccharide stimulated monocytes. This compound was found to be cytotoxic against basophilic leukemia cells as well as adjuvant therapy for tumours that are resistant to glucocorticoid therapy or do not respond to conventional chemotherapy. 3,5,7-Trimethoxyflavone has two methoxy groups that can be used for chromatographic separation by gas chromatography.
