1-Methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridin (häufig als MPTP bezeichnet) ist eine synthetische Verbindung, die für ihre neurotoxischen Wirkungen bekannt ist, insbesondere auf dopaminergische Neuronen. Es handelt sich um eine farblose bis blassgelbe Flüssigkeit mit einem charakteristischen Geruch. MPTP ist strukturell mit der Klasse von Verbindungen verwandt, die als Tetrahydropyridine bekannt sind, und weist eine Methylgruppe und eine Phenylgruppe auf, die an den Tetrahydropyridinring gebunden sind.
