Ephedrin

Ephedrin ist eine organische Verbindung, die als sympathomimetische Amino klassifiziert ist und hauptsächlich für ihre stimulierenden Eigenschaften bekannt ist. Es handelt sich um einen farblosen bis blassgelben kristallinen Feststoff, der in Wasser und Alkohol löslich ist. Die chemische Formel von Ephedrin lautet C10H15NO und weist eine Phenethylaminstruktur mit einer Hydroxylgruppe und einer Methylgruppe auf, die am Stickstoffatom angebracht sind. Ephedrin wirkt als Bronchodilatator und wird häufig zur Behandlung von Asthma und anderen Atemwegserkrankungen eingesetzt, da es die Bronchialmuskulatur entspannt.
