5-Amino-N-(2-methoxy-phenyl)-2-pyrrolidin-1-yl-benzenesulfonamide is a potent inhibitor of the human acetylcholine esterase enzyme. It has been shown to inhibit acetylcholinesterase activity in the micromolar range, with an IC50 of 1.5 μM. This inhibition is reversible and competitive with respect to acetylcholine. The peptide was designed as a research tool for studying the mechanism of action of cholinesterases and potential drug targets for Alzheimer's disease treatment.
