Beschreibung:

β-Endosulfan ist eine organochlorierte Verbindung, die zur Klasse der Insektizide und Akarizide gehört. Es ist ein Stereoisomer von Endosulfan, das eine Mischung aus zwei Isomeren ist: α und β. Diese Verbindung zeichnet sich durch ihre weiße kristalline Festform aus und hat eine relativ geringe Löslichkeit in Wasser, ist jedoch in organischen Lösungsmitteln besser löslich. β-Endosulfan weist einen hohen Grad an Lipophilie auf, was es ihm ermöglicht, sich in den Fettschichten von Organismen bioanzureichern. Es wirkt hauptsächlich als Neurotoxin, indem es die normale Funktion des Nervensystems bei Insekten stört, indem es die Aktivität von Gamma-Aminobuttersäure (GABA), einem wichtigen Neurotransmitter, hemmt. Obwohl es bei der Bekämpfung von Schädlingen wirksam ist, hat β-Endosulfan aufgrund seiner Persistenz in der Umwelt und seiner potenziellen Toxizität für Nichtzielorganismen, einschließlich Menschen, Umwelt- und Gesundheitsbedenken aufgeworfen. Endosulfan II

Endosulfan II, an organochlorine insecticide and a stereoisomer of Endosulfan I, effectively targets various insects such as bollworms and tobacco budworms, with lethal doses (LD50s) of 4.14 and 4.95 mg/g, respectively. It interacts with GABA receptors in rat brain membranes, demonstrating an inhibition concentration (IC50) of 60 nM. Notably, Endosulfan II exhibits lower toxicity in rats compared to Endosulfan I, with LD50 values of 240 and 18 mg/kg, respectively.
