Beschreibung:
Perfluoroctansäure (PFOA), mit der CAS-Nummer 335-67-1, ist eine synthetische perfluoroalkylische Substanz (PFAS), die durch eine lange Kohlenstoffkette gekennzeichnet ist, die vollständig mit Fluoratomen gesättigt ist, was sie äußerst stabil und widerstandsfähig gegen Abbau macht. Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) is one of the most commonly used perfluorinated compounds and is known to cause hepatic peroxisome proliferation in rodents (1). Being a persistent environmental pollutant, it can accumulate in human tissues via various exposure routes. PFOA may interfere in a toxic fashion on the immune system, liver, development, and endocrine systems through alteration of DNA methylation enzymes (2,3,4).
