It is used for the treatment of congestive heart failure, inflammatory bowel disease, and Alzheimer's disease. 2-Amino-1-(4-fluorophenyl)ethan-1-one hydrobromide has been shown to have antiinflammatory effects and inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines such as TNFα and IL6 in vitro. Moreover, this compound has also been shown to be effective against cancer cells in vitro.
