Mycophenolat-Natrium ist eine chemische Verbindung, die hauptsächlich als Immunsuppressivum zur Verhinderung der Abstoßung von Organtransplantaten und zur Behandlung von Autoimmunerkrankungen eingesetzt wird. Es handelt sich um die Natriumsalzform der Mycophenolsäure, die das Enzym Inosinmonophosphat-Dehydrogenase (IMPDH) hemmt, das für den de novo-Syntheseweg von Purinnukleotiden entscheidend ist. Diese Hemmung wirkt selektiv auf Lymphozyten und unterdrückt somit deren Proliferation und Funktion. Mycophenolat-Natrium wird typischerweise oral verabreicht und ist bekannt für sein relativ günstiges Nebenwirkungsprofil im Vergleich zu anderen Immunsuppressiva.
