Ganaxolone is a therapeutic agent that is used to treat epilepsy. It binds to the GABA receptor and blocks the action of GABA, which is an inhibitory neurotransmitter. This binding prevents GABA from binding to the receptor and reduces neuronal excitability in the brain.
