CAS:2-Acetoxy-N-(2-thiazolyl)benzamide is an antimicrobial agent that inhibits a number of bacterial and protozoal organisms. It is active against Trichomonas vaginalis, Giardia intestinalis, and Trichomonas vaginalis resistant to metronidazole or nitazoxanide. 2-Acetoxy-N-(2-thiazolyl)benzamide has been shown to have activity in vitro against a number of other bacteria and protozoa, including species of Enterobacteriaceae, Pseudomonadaceae, Proteeaeceaeceae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Chlamydia trachomatis, Treponema pallidum, Campylobacter jejuni, Helicobacter pylori and Entamoeba histolytica.
