Beschreibung:
Metronidazol ist ein antimikrobielles und antiparasitäres Medikament, das hauptsächlich zur Behandlung von Infektionen eingesetzt wird, die durch anaerobe Bakterien und bestimmte Parasiten verursacht werden. Es wird als Nitroimidazol-Verbindung klassifiziert, die durch ihre Nitrogruppe und die Struktur des Imidazolrings gekennzeichnet ist. Metronidazol ist wirksam gegen eine Vielzahl von Infektionen, einschließlich derjenigen, die durch Trichomonas vaginalis, Giardia lamblia und verschiedene anaerobe Bakterien wie Bacteroides- und Clostridium-Arten verursacht werden. Der Stoff wird typischerweise oral, topisch oder intravenös verabreicht, abhängig von Art und Schwere der Infektion.
