Beschreibung:
Angiotensin II ist ein potentes Peptidhormon, das eine entscheidende Rolle bei der Regulierung des Blutdrucks und des Flüssigkeitsgleichgewichts im Körper spielt. Es ist ein Octapeptid, das aus acht Aminosäuren besteht und aus Angiotensin I durch die Wirkung des Enzyms Angiotensin-Converting-Enzym (ACE) abgeleitet wird. Angiotensin II funktioniert hauptsächlich, indem es die Blutgefäße verengt, was den Gefäßwiderstand erhöht und folglich den Blutdruck steigert. Darüber hinaus stimuliert es die Freisetzung von Aldosteron aus den Nebennieren, was die Natrium- und Wasserretention durch die Nieren fördert und somit zur Erhöhung des Blutvolumens und des Drucks beiträgt. Die Substanz ist auch an der Stimulation des Durstgefühls und der Freisetzung des antidiuretischen Hormons (ADH) beteiligt, was ihre Wirkung auf die Flüssigkeitsretention verstärkt. Angiotensin II wirkt auf spezifische Rezeptoren, hauptsächlich den AT1-Rezeptor, der seine physiologischen Wirkungen vermittelt.
