    <p>5-(5-Fluoro-2-oxo-1,2-dihydro-indol-3-ylidenemethyl)-2,4-dimethyl-1H-pyrrole-3-carboxylic acid (5F2I) is a protein kinase inhibitor that was originally developed as a potential therapeutic agent for lung cancer. 5F2I inhibits the activity of protein kinases, which are enzymes that regulate cellular processes such as cell growth. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of prostate cancer cells in culture and to reduce the size of bladder tumors by 50% in animal models. 5F2I also has antihepatotoxic activity and can be used for the treatment of liver damage caused by alcohol abuse. This compound exists as two different polymorphs: one is soluble in organic solvents, while the other is soluble in water and methanol.</p>
