CAS:Thiosildenafil is a pharmaceutical drug that belongs to the class of phosphodiesterase type-5 inhibitors. It has been shown to have an increased effect on erectile dysfunction (ED) in patients with diabetes. Thiosildenafil inhibits the enzyme phosphodiesterase type-5, which is responsible for breaking down cGMP, a molecule responsible for relaxation of smooth muscles and blood vessels in the penis. This inhibition leads to an increase in cGMP levels and therefore an increase in penile blood flow and arterial inflow, resulting in improved erectile function. Thiosildenafil also interacts with other drugs that inhibit phosphodiesterases, such as sildenafil, leading to increased potency when taken together.
