    <p>ML-213 is a cationic, non-selective drug that is membrane hyperpolarizing. It has been shown to increase the intracellular Ca2+ concentration in cells and to inhibit the growth of human liver, bladder, and mesenteric cells. ML-213 also exhibits selective activities against human lung cancer cells in vitro. It binds to DNA polymerase, preventing transcription and replication. This drug also inhibits the activity of protein kinases by binding to their ATP binding site. The conformational properties of ML-213 have been studied using NMR spectroscopy and found to be affected by alcohol exposure.</p>
