2-Acetamido-2,6-dideoxy-L-galactose (ADG) is a sugar that belongs to the group of monosaccharides. It is produced by the enzyme synthase and is found in bacteria such as type strain S. mutans and P. aeruginosa. ADG has been shown to be an inhibitor of cell lysis and can be used for the treatment of staphylococcus infections. In addition, it has shown to have anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit hydrogen fluoride induced inflammation in mice.
