Metoprolol

Metoprolol ist ein selektiver Beta-1-Adrenozeptorblocker, der hauptsächlich zur Behandlung von Bluthochdruck, Angina pectoris und Herzinsuffizienz eingesetzt wird. Er gehört zur Klasse der Medikamente, die als Beta-Blocker bekannt sind, die wirken, indem sie die Auswirkungen von Adrenalin auf das Herz hemmen, was zu einer Verringerung der Herzfrequenz und des Blutdrucks führt. Metoprolol zeichnet sich durch seine relativ hohe Bioverfügbarkeit aus und wird häufig in seinen Salzen als Succinatsäure oder Tartrat verabreicht.
