Promazine hydrochloride is an amphiphilic phenothiazine drug that blocks postsynaptic dopaminergic receptors (D1, D2 and D4) in the mesolimbic and medullary chemoreceptor trigger zone (antipsychotic effects, decreasing stimulation of the vomiting centre).
